EPEC improves the scale, reach and effectiveness of parenting support for families.
Local parenting programmes for parents
EPEC is designed to improve access for socially-excluded, Black and Minoritised parents and families living in disadvantaged neighbourhoods and communities.
EPEC trains and supports parents to deliver our courses under the supervision of experienced parenting practitioners.
“Lovely trainers, very upbeat and they used their experiences to illustrate strategies really well” Parent of a 9 year-old, South London
Setting up a new EPEC Hub in your area
EPEC courses are organised through a local EPEC Hub. The EPEC Team works with local parenting services, typically based in the NHS, local authority or voluntary sector children’s provision to set up and embed a new EPEC Hub in their area.
Each local EPEC Hub receives training, support and advice from our National EPEC team, ensuring local EPEC groups are safe, effective and inspiring. Typically, a new Hub delivers around 10 EPEC courses in the first year, growing over time to the scale that meets community and service needs.
If you would like to set up a new EPEC Hub in your area please get in touch by Contact Us. We will explain what is involved and provide full training and ongoing support.
If you are considering joining the next group – GO FOR IT – you won’t regret it as it’s so informative, fun and eye opening – little tweaks here and there make massive improvements in your relationship with your children and young people. Working together for a better future in understanding each other and living life to the full!
Becoming a Parent Group Leader
Parent group leaders are local parents who are recruited by their local EPEC Hub who have completed our certified EPEC group leader training. Parent group leaders make a unique contribution to EPEC’s success, achieving community engagement and outcomes beyond those achieved by professional services alone.
Parent Group Leaders’ parenting qualities, backgrounds and experiences are critical to engaging parents, inspiring hope and motivating change. Group leaders have a key role in co-designing all EPEC courses.
If you are a manager who wants to set up a new hub or parent who would like to become a Group Leader, please get in touch – we would be delighted to hear from you. As a parent, we will link you with a local hub who can provide full training, ongoing support and continued development. For managers, we can talk about the steps involved.
